We are currently getting ready to leave for Paris to attend Silmo over Thanksgiving weekend. We have been attending this show for over 20 years. We still think that it is significant for us to travel there to bring you the latest eyewear fashions and technologies on the market first. We end up getting priority on the first production of products which means that a frame can end up in your hands before anyone else.
One of the great features of this show is the Silmo D’or Awards and this year we have a few people to cheer for! Blake Kuwahara is nominated in the best design category and best sunglass design. Competing against him is Bruno Chaussignand in the best design category. We will be looking forward to the results!
We look forward to being both inspired by the eyewear designs and the ambiance that Paris has to offer. It’s a great way to understand where fashion is going and be away from the “every day” gives us the ability to open our eyes to different surroundings. The fashion windows in Paris give us influence, meeting with eyewear designers gives us excitement and the food… well, that’s just a bonus!

We are excited to present the latest collection from Yohji Yamamoto exclusively in our stores. Yamamoto is an influential Japanese designer known for his avant-garde style which is well represented in his latest collection of sunglasses. Although Yamamoto has dabbled in the optical world in the past with other designers such as Alain Mikli, we feel that this collection is a true representation of his brand.
The collection features oversized shapes with an interesting twist and most lenses offer frosted mirror coatings. Check them out in our First Canadian Place and Yorkville locations.
We are so excited to present this limited edition kit from Blake Kuwahara and LA Eyeworks! The kit features two original shape from LA Eyeworks re-designed with Blake Kuwahara’s “frame within a frame” design. There are 4 colors per shape, 8 pieces total and only 100 kits produced for the world! Your purchase will include a cleaning cloth and case that is also a collaboration of the two brands.
We’re very excited to introduce our new Karir website, created for us by Karen Lim Design. We asked their team to create a simple website structure that would let our customers find information quickly and easily. And we wanted a clean graphic design that would showcase the sophisticated shapes, colours and textures of our frames.
